Talking about money
From 4 to 9, money is above all a physical experience: coins that weigh, jars that clink, waits that cost. Some ideas:
- A transparent jar teaches more than a thousand explanations: saving becomes visible.
- Name the wish (“the scooter”), not the number. The number will come on its own.
- When something is not bought, say the real reason in simple words: “not today” is an honest answer too.
- Buying wrong is part of the training: a two-coin so-so purchase today prevents a two-hundred-coin one tomorrow.
- None of this is financial or psychological advice: it is the habits of an otter neighborhood that happen to work surprisingly well.
